Dave Nyga
Dave Nyga is yet another member of the legendary St Louis Merchants squad with dominated the local and national softball scene for nearly two decades. Dave Nyga was a power-hitting first baseman, originally drafted by the Chicago Cubs in 1991.
Dave played for over 20 seasons at the major level. His softball resume’ is second to none, having played for some of the best teams in St Louis slow pitch history including: Coor’s, Thurmer’s, Southwest Bank, The Rockets and eventually, the St Louis Merchants where he teamed with Hall of Famers: Todd Joerling, Dave Meyer, Joe Meyer, Jerome Clayton and Jimmy McCann among others.
Over the course of his illustrious career, Dave won numerous defensive and hitting honors in addition to 10 MVP awards.
