Jimmy McCann
Mr. Jimmy McCann is perhaps one of the greatest defensive infielders to ever play ball in St Louis. Jim originally began his career as baseball star at Jefferson College and by 1983 was an invaluable “cog” in the St Louis Merchants middle infield where he played both SS and 2B.
Jimmy also played with Babe’s Tavern, St Louis Aces and Kelly’s tavern where he led his team to the Brentwood “A” League Championship. Jimmy was a member of the prolific St Louis Merchants team who won the 1986 Gateway Classic as well as their 1987 squad which won 5 Major Tournaments.
In 1990 Jim was named to the ASA Major All-America team and also was named to the 1st Team as an infielder.
